– Jeg vil være i Aston Villa og det bør ende spekulasjonene, sier Martin O’Neill.
55-åringen er en av favorittene til å ta over England etter at Steve McClaren ble sparket fra stillingen torsdag. McClaren mislyktes i forsøket på å lede England til EM.
– Jeg er forpliktet til denne jobben (manager i Aston Villa), og jeg stortrives. Det er her jeg ønsker å være, og jeg vil prøve å utrette noe skikkelig for Aston Villa, sier O’Neill.
Han var høyaktuell til å ta over England da Sven-Göran Eriksson gikk av etter fjorårets VM-sluttspill.
Andre favoritter til å bli engelsk landslagssjef er José Mourinho, Fabio Capello og Luiz Felipe Scolari.
