Den tidligere frontfiguren i Led Zeppelin ble en av de virkelig store vinnerne på Grammy-utdelingen. Sammen med Alison Krauss har Plant for masse skryt for albumet «Raising Sand», og i går stakk de av med det som kanskje er den gjeveste prisen av alle: Årets album. Singlen «Please Read The Letter» sørget i tillegg for å gi dem prisen for «record of the year».
Britisk
I forkant av utdelingen ble det gjort et poeng av at svært mange britiske artister var nominert. Og britene gjorde seg svært bemerket. I tillegg til Plant sørget Coldplay, Adele, Duffy, Radiohead og Peter Gabriel for å gjøre ære på øyrikets poptradisjoner. Plant hadde en viss ironiske distanse til det hele, melder BBC.
– I gamle dager ville vi kalle dette å selge ut. Men det er en fin måte å tilbringe en søndag på, sa han til publikum.
Med gårsdagens priser i boks er 37 år gamle Alison Krauss oppe i totalt 26 Grammy-priser. Lil Wayne, som på forhånd hadde flest nominasjoner med åtte, endte opp med fire priser. Blant showets andre høydepunkter fra U2s livepremiere på sin nye single "Get on your boots", Stevie Wonders samarbeid med jyplingene i Jonas Brothers og høygravide M.I.A.s samarbeid med Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, T.I., og Kanye West.
